According to the function, we generally divide the lights into three categories: headlamps, signal lights (including turn signals, orientation lights, brake lights, etc.) and interior lights.
Here we will introduce the principles and basic steps of lamp replacement.

In order to facilitate management, the relevant departments have made mandatory regulations on the power of the first two. The wattage of the headlights cannot exceed 55-60W, and the wattage and color of the signal lights are also limited.

Car owners should pay attention to these when upgrading bulbs. Policy to avoid failing the annual vehicle inspection due to non-compliance with the headlights, or being investigated and dealt with by the traffic police on the road. Lighting lamp: the same power luminous effect is very different Judging from the products currently available on the market, there are roughly four types of lighting lamps. One is the lamp whose power meets the national standard of 55-60W. When choosing this type of product, the owner only needs to consider the model of the lamp. The models of headlights include H1, H4, H7, etc. Generally speaking, most of the headlight models of Japanese cars are H4, European cars are H1, H7, and American cars are HB3, HB4, HB5, but export Japanese car lights in the European and American markets are generally HB3, HB4, and HB5.
In the specific operation process, the owner can find the model of the light in the lower corner of the glass of the headlight, and there will be no mistake as long as the corresponding light is carefully compared and purchased.

Some car owners have a misunderstanding, that is, to choose lights of the same power, the upgrade is not meaningful. In fact, although the power of lights of different brands is the same, because the lamps or lights use different materials, and the power generation gas is different, the lights are The effect of glowing can vary widely. For example, xenon lamps, the color temperature and lifespan are several times that of ordinary halogen lamps, but the energy consumption is only half of that of halogen lamps. Even if they are both halogen lamps, such as a blue diamond light series launched by Philips, with a color temperature of 5000K, they can still emit the same light as daytime. It can be seen that under the same power, there is still a lot of room for lamp upgrades.

The second type is the 80W power lamp, which is close to the international standard and can be used for both general civilian vehicles and modified vehicles.

The third category is the 100W power lamp. Car owners need to pay attention that when the power of the lights is upgraded to 100W, the circuit load of the original car is too large, and it is necessary to install a light-boosting light. Since the installation involves a lot of professional knowledge, it is recommended that ordinary car owners go to a professional modification shop. In addition, the light-enhancing line material must use flame-retardant materials, and the owner can use a lighter to light the light-enhancing line to detect its melting point.

The fourth category is 130W power lights, which are mainly used for vehicles that challenge special roads, such as rainforest off-road racing cars. From the above introduction, I believe that car owners have learned that there are only the first two types of wattage bulbs, and ordinary car owners can DIY by themselves.

Signal lights: There are more options for power appearance and color. In the past, the wattage of signal lights was generally 21W. At present, there are also some signal light products with slightly larger wattage and brightening function, such as 27W or 32CP signal lights produced according to American standards.

In addition, car owners have more choices in the appearance and color of signal lights. Since the relevant departments stipulate that the turn signal must be yellow, sometimes the turn signal is not in harmony with the overall design of the car body. For example, the combination of the headlight is silver-gray design. If the previous turn signal design is used, the lamps are painted yellow or the bulb is painted yellow. , to ensure that the turn signal emits yellow light, then it is bound to cause discordant color matching. Now there is a car lamp design, which fully considers this point. The upper half of the bulb is silver-gray, and the lower half is yellow. When the lamp is not illuminated, it is integrated with the car body design. When the lamp needs to be illuminated , it emits yellow light.

The interior lighting can be divided into interior lighting and instrument panel backlight.
Indoor lighting, the owner can add a night reading light as needed; this is a device only available in Mercedes-Benz. Dashboard backlight, if the dashboard backlight of the owner’s car is still the traditional red or yellow, then you can consider replacing it with a cool-tone backlight. Of course, neither of these two can be done by the owner himself.
